Resident Evil Village will officially launch on May 7th and a demo is available now on PlayStation 5. The news comes from Capcom’s Resident Evil showcase theme, which revealed several new developments for the franchise.

The eagerly awaited horror game is now available for PS4, Xbox One and PC as well as for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. Latest generation players will receive a free upgrade to the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X via Smart Delivery. A demo for the game is now available on PlayStation 5 that includes a new character called The Maiden. A separate demo will be available on other platforms in the spring.

Pre-orders are open today and players can receive a deluxe digital edition that includes in-game items. A collector’s edition includes a Chris Redfield figure and an art book. Players can also grab a bundle of Resident Evil 7 and Village.

The storefront opened with a new Resident Evil Village gameplay trailer that gave the most accurate look at the horror game yet. The video shows the Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan Winters, who navigates through a creepy castle in ego motifs and fights entities surrounded by moths. The game has a newly revised crafting system, blocking mechanics and side missions.

The shop window gave a first glimpse into Re: Verse, a new multiplayer shooter with classic Resident Evil characters. The game is free to anyone who purchases Resident Evil Village.

The new CGI Netflix film Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness rounded off the shop window. Division 2 is also getting Resident Evil cosmetics, including a Leon Kennedy outfit.
