Netatmo’s New Video Doorbell is HomeKit Compatible
Netatmo today announced its new Smart Video Doorbell. The Netatmo Video Doorbell has the features to compete with some of the biggest names in the market, allowing users to see and interact with visitors remotely. When someone rings the Netatmo Smart Video doorbell, the user receives a video call on their phone that allows them to see who is at their door. And just like any other video doorbell camera, users can talk to visitors regardless of their location.
Where the Netatmo Video Doorbell really excels is home security. Thanks to its advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, the doorbell can differentiate between someone walking by your door and someone lurking out of sight. In this case, you will receive a “Person detected” notification from the doorbell and a video of the event.
The built-in microphone and speaker can be used to call the person and warn them away from home. It provides security and added security to the front of your home.
In addition to the security functions, the settings of the Netatmo video doorbell can be fully customized. You can turn off notifications and video recordings based on your preference. For example, you can change the settings so that you are only notified when someone rings the doorbell and not when someone triggers the motion sensor.
There are also alarm zones that you can use to set specific detection areas. Not only does this provide more customization options for your doorbell, but it also prevents false positives if someone walks down the sidewalk in front of your house.
No subscription fees are required to use the features, including video storage. All call history and doorbell videos are stored locally on an internal microSD card and can then be transferred to an FTP or Dropbox account. This sets it apart from other solutions as most of the premium features, like advanced AI detection, are usually activated through a subscription service.
The Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell replaces your existing doorbell and connects to your home’s Wi-Fi network. It uses a 1080p camera with 140-degree wide angle lenses and is HDR capable to account for differences in lighting. It’s HomeKit compatible too, making it one of the few on the market. It was made after the Logitech Circle View doorbell, announced not so long ago.
The Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell is priced at $ 300 and will be available online January 6, 2021. Pre-orders start today.
