Marble Kitchen Counters | POPSUGAR Home
Marble is hot right now and it’s easy to see why. It’s an elegant surface with nice stripes of color, but after installing it, some people had a buyer’s regrets. When my husband and I were remodeling our kitchen, everyone told us to avoid marble. Even when we went to marble stores, the first words the seller said were, “Are you sure?”
Marble, unlike quartz or even granite, can cause stains and scratches and people who sell marble don’t want to get into a situation where they get yelled at for a few months after installing it because the customer’s beautiful kitchen doesn’t look brand new anymore.
We practically ignore everyone and put Carrara marble (white with gray stripes) in our marine kitchen. Three years later, not a day goes by that I don’t thank my lucky stars that we made. Our countertops are breathtakingly beautiful and their sensitivity has been greatly exaggerated. There are so many reasons to fall in love with marble, but these are some of the reasons people should give marble a second chance.
