Last week, the City Council recognized Marion Sullins and adopted a resolution in his honor. That resolution described him as “in many ways a leader in our community and region”.

The document continues: “Throughout his career, Ernie Sullins has exemplified the best of our Marion family of businesses and provided quality products and service to customers throughout Southwest Virginia. and … after fifty years of constant movement, community participation and corporate governance, Ernie Sullins has decided to retire. Now … let’s … express our sincere appreciation to the citizen, community and business leadership that Ernie Sullins has provided throughout his career, and we sincerely thank him for all of his contributions to Marion and our entire region by sharing his personality and being Business share acumen, sales skills and love for our city and we wish Ernie and his wife Carol a long, happy and successful retirement. “

Sullins expressed his love for his wife and said to the congregation, “I thank the Lord that I was allowed to pull this off.”

He also noticed that he was standing there with two possessions that money cannot buy: health and peace of mind.
