Fortnite Gets Massive Super Bowl LV Event This Week

Epic Games and Verizon have teamed up to host a massive Super Bowl LV celebration in Fortnite. The fan experience adds a full stadium to the creative mode of the game.

The event starts today and lasts through Tuesday, February 9th. During this time, players can switch to the game’s creative mode and explore the Verizon 5G stadium built by Beyond Creative. According to Verizon, the stadium is “the largest activation ever built in Fortnite’s Creative Mode”.

The celebration acts as a kind of all-access event where fans can interact with digital versions of players. Four soccer mini-games are also played in the stadium. Epic teases several other surprises around the stadium, including a scavenger hunt.

Verizon will host a digital competition as part of the event, with soccer players and popular streamers playing some of the stadium’s games. The event will be streamed on Verizon’s Twitch channel and Twitter on Tuesday, February 2 and Friday, February 5.

In addition to working with Verizon, Fortnite has other plans for Super Bowl week. The Gridiron Gang outfits will return to the game on Wednesday February 4th. The cosmetics include two outfits for each NFL team and the logo-a-go-back-bling.

Starting February 4th, Fortnite will get a new mode based on this year’s Super Bowl match. The players are divided into teams: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Epic says there is no other price to pay for the event than boastful rights.

Finally, Twitch and the NFL Players Association will host the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl II on Wednesday, February 4th. At the event, streamers in Fortnite will compete for a nonprofit prize pool of $ 1 million. The event will have its own halftime show with T-Pain.
