P.Personal attention, competent staff, many years of experience, practical help and advice and of course quality products – these are the ingredients that make a successful company and that stand the test of time.
It just keeps getting better at Regent Flooring Kitchen and Bath! The independent family company is celebrating its 58th anniversary this year.
The company, which was opened by Felix Rossi and his partners in 1963, initially focused on floors such as wood, tiles and carpets.
“My father and grandfather were born in Italy,” says the current owner, Joe Rossi, son of Felix. “In the early days the business was a much smaller operation. It basically opened up in one room, and now we’ve expanded into a spacious showroom including a brand new addition to our kitchen and bathroom department. We still offer a full line of flooring, and we now have window treatments as well and an increasing focus on kitchen and bathroom remodeling. “
Residential and commercial building
Regent handles the same number of residential and business projects and has had some unusually memorable jobs over time like carpeting on an airplane and in a brand new movie theater in a nearby house.
The company handles all sizes and types of jobs, and Rossi points out that depending on budget, customers may not want to do a full remodel all at once. Projects can be carried out gradually over time. Take into account changes to the surface, e.g. B. new worktops, furniture fittings and backsplash. Just a few changes can give a room a great new look.
The company’s location in Pennington Square Shopping Center at 7 Route 31 North in Pennington attracts people from the Princeton and Pennington areas and beyond. Many are long-term customers that Rossi knew as a boy. In fact, the second and even third generation are long-standing customers. “Some of them were my father’s customers,” says Rossi.
He really grew up in business, he notes, came over the weekend and after school and experienced the full spectrum of the operation, including the installation.
“I always knew I wanted to be in business,” he recalls. “I enjoyed learning how things were done and helping with work. I take pride in how we continue the business my father built. I am proud to continue the family tradition. “
Regent has definitely become the meeting point for floor coverings and window treatments. And with the expansion to kitchen and bathroom conversions, it also offers the convenience of individual shopping.
“The move to the kitchen and bathroom was very successful.” points out Rossi. “We made backsplashes and countertops, and customers really pushed us to do it. They didn’t want to deal with all the different contractors. Now we can do anything for you. Everything is selected and coordinated by our team of designers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and tilers. It’s teamwork.
“We can show a client how to turn a closet into a bathroom by designing it right on our computer. We design everything right here and you can choose anything here. “
The house should be a haven more than ever. As we have been spending more time at home – and have been for the last 10 months – it is especially important that it is warm and welcoming, comfortable and safe A place where you can live and work more and more often.
This winter may be just the right time to give the house a new look by remodeling a kitchen or bathroom, making new floors, or choosing one of the amazing window treatment options. A productive and creative winter company awaits you!
Whether it’s flooring, renovations or window treatments, a number of considerations are important factors, emphasizes Rossi. The size of the room, personal taste, lifestyle, and budget are part of the equation.
“Lifestyle is very important in making the best choice,” he explains. “How active is the household? Are there children, pets? Does the family cook a lot? These are all factors in deciding the best products for your needs. “
“Customers today seem to like everything with a natural look,” continues Rossi. “This includes natural products like stone and wood or products that look natural like laminates.
“Today the trend is towards lighter colors. Gray is popular for carpets, also for warm tones like brown mixed with gray. “
Carpeting is currently mainly used in bedrooms, while hardwood and carpets are preferred in other rooms.
Tiles continue to be very popular in kitchens, bathrooms, foyers and mud rooms. The selection of Regent tiles is extraordinary and astonishingly diverse. Many sample floor designs are displayed in the attractive and spacious showroom.
Porcelain, stone and marble are available not only for floors but also for walls. Regent’s selection of natural and man-made tiles comes from all over the world, including the United States, Rossi notes, and the choice of colors, patterns, and textures is exceptional.
“Porcelain and natural stone are very popular for floors today,” he adds. “There are also laminates that can look like wood or stone and are easy to maintain. Vinyl is also used for floors in many rooms and is available in slabs, tiles, or planks. “
Shades to shutters
Granite and quartz are favorites for countertops, and they can have different textures, such as polished, matte, or leathery.
Window treatments are a rapidly growing part of the business and a wide range of products are displayed. From blinds to shutters and blinds, there are many styles and designs. Options for cordless, pleated, vertical and room blackout are available.
“Plantation shutters are popular, and we have Gaber blinds and roller blinds,” says Rossi. “A battery lift and motorized blinds are also popular.”
Regent carries a wide range of major brands across all categories including Fieldstone Cabinets, WoodPro Vanities, Kohler Faucets, Masland Carpet, Lauzon Hardwood, and Mannington Vinyl.
The possibilities in all categories seem limitless. Cabinets, countertops, floor and wall choices and window treatments. With so many options, the selection process can be challenging and advising clients is a priority for Regenten.
“People are better informed than ever before,” reports Rossi. “They did research on the internet but they still appreciate our advice. And because they have this knowledge, they value a company that knows what it is doing and has integrity. “
There’s a wide price range too, and Regent works hard to be as affordable as possible. “We try to have something for every budget and we will work with people to find the right product in their price range,” says Rossi. “Right now we’re also offering a nationwide sale for the month of January with significant savings and discounts.”
After the store closed voluntarily in March last year due to the virus and then only opened by appointment, it reopened fully soon afterwards. It was seen as essential and customers really wanted to go to the showroom. Business has flourished ever since.
“A lot of people are now repairing their houses,” reports Rossi. “We’re also getting a lot of new customers who moved here from the city during the virus. They often want a new look for the house – a kitchen or bathroom remodel, new flooring or window treatments. “
When customers walk into the showroom, all safety precautions and state regulations apply including masks, social distancing, etc.
Knowing that every home and space is unique, Regent carefully ensures that every customer receives the best result for their needs and desires.
“What sets us apart are our employees, our team of experienced professionals who are competent, trustworthy and really take care of it,” explains Rossi. “The biggest thing we sell is trust. As one of the oldest businesses in Pennington, we feel more than ever that homeowners want to hire local businesses they can trust.
“We are part of the community here. We sponsor sports teams and charities. This is important to us. We look forward to 2021 and beyond and continue our core values of quality sales and service. We plan to renovate many more homes and businesses.
“I love to see a project come together and see that The customer was satisfied with a result that exceeded his expectations, ”he adds. “And it’s never boring! Every day is different, every job is different and every customer is different. “
