Apple Launches New Time to Walk for Fitness+ Subscribers

Apple today announced a new series of gait exercises for its Fitness + Workout service. The new Time to Walk program invites you to socialize with celebrities and other “influential and interesting people”. As you walk, you can laugh, cry, and find entertainment as the miles go by. It should be a great companion for those long walks, better than just taking them on your own.

“With Time to Walk, we’re bringing original content to the Apple Watch in Fitness + every week, including some of the most diverse, intriguing and famous guests, providing inspiration and entertainment so our users can keep moving through the power of walking,” said Jay Blahnik , Senior Director of Fitness Technologies at Apple, in the press release.

Time to Walk invites influencers to share their stories and reflect on their lives. Each message is meant to inspire listeners and encourage them to leave regularly. The series opens in four episodes starring country star Dolly Parton, professional NBA basketball player Draymond Green, musician Shawn Mendes and Emmy award-winning actress Uzo Aduba.

Time To Walk is available to Fitness + subscribers who can find both new and old episodes in the Workout app. Selecting a Time to Walk episode will automatically start a walk training activity that allows users to focus on the storyteller rather than worrying about their fitness. The monologue lasts between 25 and 40 minutes and users can walk at their own pace for the duration of the conversation. For wheelchair users, Time to Walk is called Time to Push and starts a new outdoor wheelchair walk pace training.

New episodes are added weekly and automatically displayed in the Workout app on Apple Watch. Users can listen to new episodes as they are published or browse the back catalog. Each episode is treated to the user through connected AirPods or similar Bluetooth headphones.

Time to Walk is available now to all Apple Fitness + subscribers in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the US. Fitness + is $ 10 per year or $ 80 per year. It’s also included in the Apple One Premier plan ($ 30 monthly), which includes 2TB of iCloud storage, Apple Arcade, Apple Music, and more. New Apple Watch owners who have purchased an Apple Watch Series 3 or higher automatically receive three months of Apple Fitness + free of charge.
